Tangle Teezer Review

Before going to university, I held back on buying a Tangle Teezer because I thought they were just an over priced brush that wouldn't really do much to better the condition of my hair. However, after being at uni, some of the girls I live with have them so I got to try it out. I'm sure you know what happened next. Yes - I caved and picked myself one up from Boots.

Now that my hair is pretty long, this item has been an absolute gem at detangling my hair without ripping loads of hair out, which is what my GHD paddle brush did. My hair also feels so much softer after using this for a long period of time, especially the ends.

I've also found that after styling my hair curly or wavy, I can still brush my hair out with this and the curls don't fall out and it creates more of a beachy, effortless look, wish I've been loving recently.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the bristles seem to bend much easier than on a normal brush, so it's important to not put it in your bag with anything heavy on it that could risk bending the bristles.

Other than that, I'm really glad I bought this brush. Below is a link to the Boots site with all of the different types and colours of Tangle Teezers for you to check out!

Exciting News & Thank You!

Hello all!

Writing this quick post just to let you know some exciting news....

I GOT INTO UNIVERSITY!

I'm still in shock! I got into my first choice, which is the University of York (12th best in the country!) to study English Language and Linguistics. I was literally like a shaking leaf on results day, so nervous! I managed to get an A in English Language, B in business and B in psychology.

I would liked to thank anyone who commented on my post from last week about results day wishing me good luck. I'd also like to thank everyone who has followed me, and I haven't been blogging for long and I am so, so close to 100 followers collectively (on google and bloglovin'). I'm really loving blogging at the moment, just to have the freedom to write about whatever I want and get feedback on it and just communicating with everyone in  the community.

So that's pretty much it for this post, I hope you all have had a lovely weekend.

Are any of you going to university this year? Where are you going and what are you studying? Let me know in the comments!

A Basket Full

Good evening! I have a huge basket sat in my room full of different body products that rarely get touched, so I've made it my mission to started using them to empty the box so I can re-stock it with new products for me to try out. Although, it may take some time getting through all of these! You may notice that there is a lot of Soap and Glory products, that is because I've got them as gifts for Christmas and birthdays. I'll put pictures of the products below so that you can have a nosy and see what I've got knocking about in the basket!

Just a quick note - the St. Tropez fake than is something I wish I could use all the time, however it's been thrown into the basket as there is only a tiny bit left and I'm sort of reluctant to use the rest of it because it's so bloody expensive to repurchase! You can check out my review of it here.

If you have any suggestions of new products I should buy then please let me know in the comments. Also, I'll probably include some of these products in an empties post I plan on doing in the future. I might also do the odd review on some of these products here and there!

A BUDGET HAUL

Good evening Ladies and Gents! I had an extremely lazy day today and so I decided to get my arse     in gear and go into town and purchase some new things. However, as I am currently skint I didn't     go overboard and actually managed to get six items for a total of £10.24, which I think is pretty good!

I purchased all of these items from Body Care which is a sort of 'Poundland' version of Boots. Yes, everything may not be £1 but it is a hell of a lot cheaper so it's a great place to go if you're looking for a bargain.

The first item is Imperial Leather Sensuous Silk Bath Cream and it smells a delight! It was only 99p and it's a 500ml bottle - cheap as chips! I'm a huge fan of Imperial Leather body wash, everything smells so good and leaves your skin feeling b-e-a-utiful and the price of it really isn't an issue!

If you've read my previous posts, you'll know I've been loving the Tea Tree Lotion by The Body Shop, so I thought I'd get myself a tea tree facial wash to try and get rid of some redness I have on my face. The brand is Escenti which I've never heard of before, but it was only 89p and I was in need of something to stop my redness before it consumes my whole face and I turn into a walking red blob!

Thirdly is the Pearl Drops Everyday White, which was also extremely cheap (99p). I'm not really sure how to use it at the moment but I think you use it as a tooth paste. As it was only really cheap, I'm not expecting amazing results, but nevertheless I want to give it a bash!

Not the most exciting, but I needed some more makeup wipes so I got the Bodycare 4 in 1 Cleansing Facial Wipes (89p). When buying makeup wipes, I try not to spend a lot because all makeup wipes pretty much do the same job, so I'm not too bothered about getting a specific brand.

I've read a lot about the L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Solution so I picked it up. It's meant to dissolve makeup, unclog pores and tone and sooth the skin. I'll probably use this after I've removed my makeup and washed my face just to get it extra clean! This was actually the most expensive thing I bought at £3.99.

Finally, I needed a new face scrub which is why I purchased the Neutrogena Gentle Exfoliating Wash. I haven't used a Neutrogena product in years so I'm looking forward to seeing how this works with my skin! Oops, almost forgot, the price of this is £2.49.

So that is it for my little budget haul! If there's a particular product that you want a to see a review on let me know in the comments. But if I love any of the products after using them they'll probably be featured in a future favourites post or I'll do a review on them!

EMILY, WHO?

Another one of these 'get to know me' tags for you this evening! Enjoy.

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair used to be naturally sort of curly, but now it's much longer it's got heavier, and so its more on the straight side now - which I'm so happy about!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
In the past, I dyed my hair quite a lot. The first few times I dyed it myself, but then it all went tits up so I had to go to a salon! That was back in the days when I thought blondey/orange hair suited me (oh god), but now my hair is 100% its natural colour and I haven't dyed it in about 3 years. So to actually answer the question, I don't dye my hair anymore!

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

I'm pretty unadventurous when it comes to my hairstyle. On the day I've washed and blow dried it, I tend to just leave it as it is because it's pretty much straight, but on second day hair I'll straighten it to tame the beast! Goes slightly out of control!

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do my own nails. I'm not much of a nail kind of girl, I just find a colour I like and slap it on!

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
Probably once a week

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
I don't do my toes often, but I just do it whenever I feel like some colour down there (sounds dodgy...), which isn't too often!

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
It depends! I usually try and give myself about 30-40 minutes to do it. But if I'm going on a night out, it's a completely different story!!

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
I do my face first and then my eyes, don't know why, I just prefer it that way!

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I'd like to say I collect it, but I really can't afford to be doing that! Mostly, I'll just get what I need but it is sometimes nice to go a bit mental and spend some pennies on some goodies. Not too often though.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never for just everyday. I've only started wearing false lashes within the past year on nights out! Although the reason I started wearing them when I went out was because I thought they made me look older when I was 17 and trying to get into clubs - haha. But now I wear them pretty much every time I go on a night out.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
No. If I'm doing completely nothing in a day but chilling in my pjs I won't wear any makeup. If I'm going to be nipping out a couple of times in the day I'll just use my Bobbi Brown Gel Liner, L'Oreal Mascara and MUA Brow kit. However, if I'm going out in the evening or I'm out somewhere all day I'll go the full monty (foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara, brows and possibly eyeshadow)

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
I never wear makeup when I'm home alone!

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes - if I'm just popping out to the shop and I'm feeling lazy I won't put any makeup on.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
I have quite a few I think, it's a mixture of NARS, MAC, Bobbi Brown, YSL, Lancome and Urban Decay (is UD classed as high-end?!), but I do love my good old drugstore products too!

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
Rarely, I just throw on whatever I want on the day, I'm not much of a planner.

16. How often do you change your handbag?
Not often. I probably should invest in a new one soon.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
Recently, I've been sleeping at about 2-3am and then waking up whenever! Oh the joys of summer holidays.

18. How often or when do you workout?
I try to do it about 2-3 times a week, although I haven't done it in a while I am hoping to get back at it tomorrow!

19. Left handed or right handed?
Righty.

20. How tall are you?
5'7

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
None at all - I'm so boring!

22. How many pets do you have?
None anymore, I used to have a cat and a budgie but they died, and my sisters fish recently died so our house is officially petless!

23. How often are you on Blogger?
I think I check it a few times a day, I'm on Bloglovin' much more though because that's where I follow the most people, I like to check the most recent posts.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Yup - I like to see other people's opinions on a specific post or product, you really do learn a lot from it.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Not a physical list, a mental one!

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
Probably the most unimaginative name ever! It's just my first name shortened (Emily - Em), my middle name (Georgia) and then the first letter of my last name.

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I know it's a Canon but that is all I know! I don't currently have it with me as I'm not at home for the rest of the week - Sorry!

28. How often do you clean your house?
I try to keep my room tidy, it doesn't last too long though.

29. What's your favorite color?
I don't really have a favourite colour! Black probably (roll on the 'black is a shade not a colour' comments...haha).

30. Do you swear?
Yes - not really something I feel proud to admit but it's just become part of my daily vocabulary. But I'm not the kind of person to throw in an F-Bomb at the end of every sentence, I ain't that kind of a swearer!

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I'm going to be watching 10 Years Younger (love that show) and then going to pick my boyfriend up from work at about 12am - oh the joys of being the only one in the relationship with a driving licence!

If you're reading this then congrats you made it through the 31 questions! Fancy doing this tag too? Post the link in the comments so I can take a look.

THE BEST OF JUNE

I've grabbed a handful of products to show you that I have been loving this month, so lets get to it...

- I have fallen in love with the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion by The Body Shop. I get really bad redness around my nose (charming) and I thought it was time to fight back! I have noticed a huge difference in my skin, its much clearer and the redness has been greatly reduced. Also, I love the smell and the feel of the product on my face - it tingles!

- I've had the DKNY Be Delicious fresh blossom body lotion for ages now as I got it in a set with the perfume (which I adore). I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and it really is a lovely smelling lotion! I am the worst at explaining scents so I'm not even going to try, but if you love fresh and clean scents then I would definitely recommend giving this a whiff!

- Not sure about everyone else, but personally, I find it extremely hard to find a mascara that won't smudge and make me look like a panda! However...I think I've finally found my perfect mascara. The L'Oreal Volumissime X5 in carbon black has really won me over, completely no smudges and it gives my lashes a really full and lengthening effect. I would highly recommend this beautiful product!

- There are so many people raving about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, so when I was in Boots the other day, I took a gander to the Revlon section and got myself one! I chose the colour 'honey' as I had heard from a beauty guru on YouTube that it was a good dupe for MACs 'plumful'. I wore the Revlon Balm Stain to my sixth form prom a couple of days ago and I really do love it, and it doesn't budge all day! I woke up in the morning (after coming home drunk and removing my makeup) to find that there was still some colour left! Great little beauty to have in your collection

- It is no secret that the Urban Decay Naked palettes are amazing! I am completely in with the hype and have been loving the original Naked palette and also the Naked Basics. The colours are stunning and by far are my favourite eyeshadows.
