Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation Review

I first heard about this product through Essiebutton on YouTube and everything that I've tried that she's recommended I have loved! Another reason for going for this foundation is that it is a drugstore foundation and now I'm on a student budget, I wanted to go for something a little cheaper. I was sort of skeptical about choosing a drugstore foundation just because I've been using more expensive brands such as MAC, Bobbi Brown and YSL. I honestly didn't think that a drugstore foundation could please me as much as an expensive one - but I was wrong!

The thing I really like about this foundation is the formula of it, it's gel based which works wonders on my dry skin, it smooths over dry areas beautifully - something my YSL foundation failed to do. It's also a serum and a foundation, so I guess that it is better for your skin and has more healthy ingredients that won't irritate the skin. I wouldn't say my skin has got better from using it, but it definitely hasn't reacted to it, no spots - nothing!

The only problem I have with the product is that I bought a shade too dark, but that's just me being stupid and not paying attention to what I picked up! I will 100% be buying it again, it really is a fantastic foundation.

A Moisturizer For Lazy People

Lets face it, sometimes we just can't be bothered to rub moisturizer all over our bodies after a shower. I know I'm extremely lazy when it comes to this, as after a shower I just want to dry off and throw on some comfy clothes. That's where this little gem called the Spray-On Body Moisturizing Mist by Soap and Glory comes in handy!

Like every Soap and Glory product, it smells amazing, it has that signature Soap and Glory scent (like in the body butters, body wash & others). The mist is really fine and even so you don't have random patches of the product on your skin - it goes on evenly.

The thing I like about this (probably due to my laziness) is that it doesn't take long to skin into your skin at all. So, if you're applying it after a shower you can spray it on (once dry) and immediately put clothes on - which is a plus for me! I hate the waiting around for moisturizers to sink into the skin.

Obviously, with it being a body mist, it's not going to deeply moisturize your skin. But, it does definitely soften the skin and leaves a really nice, 'just washed' scent. I just feel more clean after spraying this all over!

August Favourites

Hello, hope you're all doing well! As promised, here is my August favourites post. As you many see, there are little makeup products because I really haven't been wearing that much makeup recently, unless I'm going on a night out, or seeing friends - stuff like that! I've only been using my MUA Pro-Brow Palette, Bobbi Brown Gel Liner and a couple of different mascaras (none of the mascaras have that 'wow' factor!). Although the brow palette is one of my favourites, it won't be included in this post because I've mentioned it in previous posts.

Studded Flat Shoes
I finally got a new pair of shoes and I love them! I managed to get them for about £5 on eBay, but they're originally from Primark. Yes - I'm being super cheap and buying Primark off eBay!! Although they're cheap, they're extremely comfortable and they look nice, so I can't complain!

Neutrogena Gentle Exfoliating Wash
I've been loving this product! I've noticed a huge different in my skin whilst using it, such as less redness, smoother skin and it just overall makes my skin look more even and clear. I don't really suffer with bad skin so I'm not too sure how well it would clear up acne and things like that, but it certainly helped my skin to improve. Click here to see a review of this gem!

H&M Nail Polish in 'Chill Out'
I did a post about this nail polish which you can check out here. I've been using this polish for my toes and I love it. It makes your toes look colourful but clean, if that makes sense!

Dexter, Pretty Little Liars & True Blood
I've enjoyed watching these programmes so much! If you're watching Dexter at the minute, you'll know it's the last season, which I am devastated about. However, I am loving the final season, only 3 episodes left - eek! I'm pretty sure the majority of teenage girls (my boyfriend also watches it...) have been watching Pretty Little Liars, and if you've watched the most recent episode I'm sure you were shocked!! I was literally jaw dropped, a little bit of me died inside!! I don't want to say too much incase you're not up to date - but oh my god! True Blood is one I've started watching recently, up to season 4 at the moment and I'm enjoying it, although it is extremely sexual. People had warned me before I started watching it, but I had no idea it was actually this raunchy! I still love it nevertheless. What are some of your favourite shows?

My bed
Bit of an odd one - I know! Although I have been fully embracing the comfort of my own bed. As I only have about 3 weeks until I move out, I'm using that as an excuse to stay in bed A LOT and make the most of the time I have with my own bed before we have to part ways! I know it sounds sad, but there really is nothing better than your own bed!! Agree?

Quite a few random favourites this month, but as I said, I haven't been using many beauty products. Plus, I enjoyed including other things, rather than just all beauty!

Avon Goodies

My mum recently became an Avon rep, so she bought a few bits for me and her to try out so she could talk to customers about products and just get a better feel of the things that Avon sell. Before this, I had about one or two Avon bits, so it was nice to try these!

Planet Spa Chinese Ginseng Revitalizing Face Mask
I do love face masks! I have no idea why, but the fact this one is 'Chinese Ginseng' made it seem all the more exciting to try out. I've only used it once, so I can't really give it a fair review. But I enjoyed using it. It's a peel mask too, which is always a bit of fun. Don't know about you lot, but it reminds me of primary school where I used to get a weird kick out of putting PVA glue on the table, waiting for it to dry and then peeling it off. Please tell me I wasn't the only odd child that did that?!

Gold Collar Necklace
I've recently become a massive fan for big, unusual necklaces - which is really unlike me because I'm not really a jewelry girl. I do love this item because it's just really simple but still very pretty. When I wear it, I think I'll probably wear it with a low(ish) cut top. I haven't had the chance to wear it yet, but I lent it to my friend when we went out at the weekend and it looked great on her!

Moroccan Argan Oil
I've heard everyone talking about argan oil for your hair, so I thought it was time to give it a go! I haven't used it yet and I don't know if I'm going to like it. The directions say to apply to dry hair, I'm sort of putting off trying it because I'm worried it's going to make my hair greasy rather than all shiny and oo la la. But, I will report back!

Skin So Soft Oil
I've used this once and I had no idea how to use it (sorry if I'm being stupid) so I just rubbed it into my legs after my shower and it made my legs really nice and smooth. It took a while for it to sink into my skin, but the results were pleasing. But, I've only used it once so I can't give it a fair review just yet!

Clearskin Blemish Clearing Body Wash
I think I had an allergic reaction to a body wash I was using previously, my legs got really itchy which caused little red bumps and just irritation in general. I got this to try and clear up my legs, and to be honest, I've never heard of a blemish clearing body wash...have you? It seems to be decent so far, although it does have a scent of mild vomit, so definitely put a nice smelling body wash or cream afterwards!

In a Blink Eyeliner in 'Espresso'
I've needed a brown eyeliner for ages! I stopped using black ones a while ago (for my bottom lash line) because it just started to look odd on me. So this one isn't very exciting, just your average brown pencil liner!

Lipstick in 'Divine Wine'
This lipstick looks really lovely in the tube, but it does look different on the lips. I think the thing that puts me off this is that it had bits of shimmer in it, and that just isn't really my thing. Personally, I think it looks better when you dab it on the lips and build it up slowly, rather than just slapping it on all thick!

Emily Loves - Neutrogena Gentle Exfoliating Wash

Good evening lovelies! This is my first proper review post, and I wanted to take a second to introduce my 'Emily Loves' posts. Every now and again, when I find a product I love, I'll do a post about it with the title 'Emily Loves'. I wanted to do this so that you can see the products that I've been loving and recommend - just thought it was a nice idea. Anyway, enough ramble and onto the review!

I got the Neutrogena Gentle Exfoliating Wash a few days ago in a budget haul you can see here. I've been using this product since the first day I got it and I have definitely noticed a positive difference in my skin.

I have normal/dry skin with redness around my nose. From using this exfoliating wash my skin has just completely calmed down and the overall colour of my face has become much more even and nice looking, which is fab! I hate this phrase, but it really 'does what it says on the tin' by scrubbing all of the dead skin off and leaving you with cleansed and smooth skin - lovely stuff!

Another thing that contributes to my love for this product is the price, it's so cheap! I purchased mine from Bodycare for £2.49, however I am aware that there are not Bodycare stores accessible to everyone, so you can purchase it from Boots here for £3.99.

After using this Neutrogena product it's definitely made me want to buy more products from their skincare line, and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

MY CURRENT SKINCARE PRODUCTS

Quick post talking/reviewing about my current skin care products that I've been using!

- The Body Shop Tee Tree Lotion, I get redness around my nose so I got this to try and reduce it. This is my favourite skin care item that I own! I love the smell and the way it feels after you apply it, my face feels all tingly and fresh. It's the first Body Shop product that I own and I really want to try some more, any recommendations? Let me know in the comments!

- Simple Purifying Lotion, Don't really have much to say about this, it's a nice lotion and does the job! Can't go wrong with Simple.

- Origins Spot Treatment, By far the best spot gel I've tried. If you have a spot and apply this, you will literally see the spot either reduce or almost completely disappear the next day! It may seem a little pricey as it looks so small, but I've had it for months and I've got half left - bonus!

- Egyptian Magic, This is the really grotty looking tub in the picture - I've had it for a long time! I use this as my moisturiser but its an all purpose product. The texture of it is kind of like a thicker Vaseline, and to use it you rub it in your fingers and it changes into an oil, then you apply. It's great for hydrating the skin and I've also found that it has reduced the scar on my head that I accidentally gave myself with the straighteners (I'm an idiot, I know)

- St Ives Apricot Scrub, Not going to lie, I don't love this. It's meant to reduce blemishes but it hasn't really worked for me. It's kind of just a basic exfoliator and I' m just using it up so that I don't waste money! Have you tried any St Ives products? Any recommendations?

- Kiko Hydrating Mask,  This is a really nice face mask for people with dry skin such as myself. It's great at hydrating the skin and making it appear more bright and clear, and it smells lovely!
